What is archery?
In the archery you take on something thousands of years old that has gone from being a weapon to one of the most popular and most demanding activities out there, thanks to the concentration it takes.
It is the right thing for testing your aim and your composure — the two things that decide whether the arrow lands or never gets there. Find out how steady you can hold your hand. It works well for birthdays, stag and hen dos and team building.
It is suitable for children too, since the levels are matched to every age. No previous experience is needed, but the weather at the start time is taken into account

Did you know that the archery started as a way of staying alive, long before it was a sport ? It was one of the first ways humans fed themselves. Later it became a sport that asks for a great deal of control, physical and mental.
Besides what it demands, it gives plenty back: it releases stress, it builds concentration, which the sport needs, and self-control. People who take it up tend to say it is addictive, and that once you start you are hooked.
One last thing worth knowing: this was the first sport to let women compete at the Olympics, back in 1904.

As well as the regulations in force you will find calendars, prices, licences and insurance , which all matter here. The site also lists every regional federation with its location, phone number and contact, so you can find the archery federation nearest you.
