Take a day out in the country — a valley, a stretch of coast or a cliff, somewhere quiet where you have each other and the country. Something funny: go and see a stand-up
If the point is enjoying yourselves, laughing is how. If your partner likes comedy , that is the evening sorted.
Go and see one of your favourite comedians live. Look at what is on in your city and see whether there is a comedian you both like . You can die together like a proper romantic couple — of laughter, obviously.
Something restful: a spa
Without question, one of the most requested . What better than a spa , where you have each other’s company while the week comes off your shoulders.
There are the jets, the steam rooms and the heated pools. How about a chocolate treatment or aromatherapy together?
It will also do you good , and you go back to the week renewed.
Something romantic: a first balloon flight
Imagine going up in a balloon together for the first time. A sunset, remarkable country underneath you and a glass of wine.
One of those days two people do not forget , and one of the most romantic things there is. Entirely recommended.
Leave the flying to the qualified pilot, particularly with a drink in you. Remember: if you drink, do not drive!
Something cheap: a picnic worth the name
If you want something less expensive , put together a picnic — with a difference. It sounds simple, but thought through carefully it is hard to beat, because you can add things you would not find in an day out for two ordinary one.
Think about their favourite food and drink, make them a pudding they cannot say no to, pick somewhere you have been meaning to go or somewhere you already love, and the evening is made.
For something more romantic still, bring music and candles. This one also makes a good combination with the first idea above.
Something at home: cook their favourite dinner
A traditional option for anyone who wants to stay in, and one that shows both effort and how well you know them.
First you need them out of the way long enough to prepare it. Then think about what they most like. Make them the dinner of their dreams: their favourite, your best dish, something you do not eat often. You know them better than we do.
And set the house up for it — flowers, candles, whatever you know they love.
Something different: test their senses
We have suggested cooking them dinner. If that does not appeal and you want something newer, here is another idea. They say you should not play with your food; this once, we will.
Go to a restaurant where the dishes are a surprise, and you will both come across flavours you did not know.
The version at home: cook dinner yourself. Make several dishes and, before they see them, have them smell and taste each one and guess what it is. A dinner that is both entertaining and out of the ordinary.
