Coasteering
One of the 17 activities you could get with Go Orange, from €35 per person. Like all of them, you do not find out this is the one until between 48 and 24 hours beforehand.
About coasteering
What is coasteering?
Get properly stuck into coasteering, the most complete way there is to spend a day by the sea. It links a coastal route with walking, jumps into the water, cave exploration and snorkelling, among other things.
You can do it alone, in a pair or in a group. It works particularly well for large groups: friends, schools, day trips, stag and hen dos, work groups and special occasions.
The weather at the start time is taken into account to keep everyone safe and make sure the session runs properly. There are different difficulty levels so that everyone gets something out of it, and the only requirement is that you can swim.

As we said, all you need is to be able to swim and to want to be there.

Season
This kind of activity runs from March to October, because it depends on the weather to be run properly.
Coasteering kit
Beyond wanting to be there, the day needs a certain amount of kit. A wetsuit is what keeps you warm through the session.
Alongside it goes the buoyancy aid, which keeps you afloat and helps if anything goes wrong.
The other thing to wear, just in case, is a helmet. Footwear should be sturdy shoes, so the rock does not go through them, and non-slip.
Best to pick a pair you are not attached to: there is a fair chance they end up in the bin afterwards.
Federation and safety
Every session is supervised by one or more qualified specialist instructors so that you can just enjoy it.
The sport is classed as a hiking activity by the Spanish Mountain and Climbing Sports Federation (FEDME), which runs workshops, conferences, talks and exhibitions on safety and preparation.
The aim is to cut the number of accidents outdoors , whether in the mountains, hiking, climbing, canyoning, Nordic walking or coasteering itself.
